A Brief Biography
Dr. Sutton is a native of southeastern North Carolina, having been born and raised in Burgaw, North Carolina, just outside of Wilmington. After graduating from Pender High School, she attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. She then spent a year working and studying with Antonio E. Puente, Ph.D., a neuropsychologist in Wilmington and a Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Dr. Sutton went on to earn her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada (a doctoral program accredited by the American Psychological Association), where she was trained in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, Texas (an internship accredited by the American Psychological Association), where she was a Neuropsychology Intern. She then came full circle and returned to Wilmington, North Carolina to complete a two-year informal post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology with Antonio E. Puente, Ph.D. She lives in Hampstead, North Carolina with her wonderfully supportive husband, adorable daughters, and rambunctious dog and is thrilled to be working in the community where she lives, and in the county where she was raised.
Areas of Practice
Dr. Sutton is a trained as a neuropsychologist specifically and as a clinical psychologist in general. Her doctoral research focused on neuropsychological and neurocognitive functioning in individuals with schizophrenia, and she has been trained and had experience with the neuropsychology of disorders across the lifespan, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Learning Disorders in childhood, Traumatic Brain Injuries, all types of Dementia, and just about everything in between. Dr. Sutton also maintains individual psychotherapy patients. She generally works with individuals with various mood and anxiety disorders. She also specializes in helping individuals with neuropsychological disorders and their families cope with and adjust to the disorders themselves.

A Brief History
Tidal Neuropsychology PLLC was founded by Griffin Pollock Sutton, Ph.D. in 2014. Dr. Sutton is the founding member of and sole practitioner at Tidal Neuropsychology, and formed the practice in efforts to provide neuropsychological and psychological services to patients in the Pender County area and beyond.
