After almost ten years of serving patients through insurance, Dr. Sutton is no longer scheduling new evaluations for payment through insurance.  (Please note that this change occurred on 06.01.2023.  All patients already scheduled at that time – which includes appointments scheduled through early 2024 – will still be completed through insurance as scheduled.)  While referrals may come from other providers (e.g., primary care providers, pediatricians, neurologists, etc.) or directly from patients, all scheduled evaluations moving forward will be for self-pay only.


Please note that patients will not be able to submit information to their insurance plan following the evaluation for potential retroactive reimbursement, as the information required for such submissions will not be available.  This is for a number of reasons, and Dr. Sutton is happy to discuss them with you further if you are interested.

To move forward with scheduling, please contact Dr. Sutton via either telephone (910-803-1434) or by completing the online form on the Contact Us page.  The scheduling process will include a discussion with Dr. Sutton regarding the appropriateness of the referral and the cost of the evaluation.  Once you and Dr. Sutton and agree to schedule an evaluation, you will be sent a link to sign up for the Patient Portal.  This will allow you to complete necessary new patient paperwork and to provide payment for reservation of the evaluation.


Please note that twenty percent of the evaluation fee will be required to confirm your reservation for the evaluation, with the full balance being due by the date of the evaluation.  Evaluations are only conducted once full payment has been made, and payments may be made in increments ahead of time.  Please contact us to discuss what type of evaluation is needed and what the fee for the evaluation will be.


Rescheduling an Evaluation:

Please note that your evaluation time is reserved specifically for you.  If you need to reschedule your evaluation (e.g., if a scheduling conflict arises), you may do so without charge as long as you notify our office at least one week (seven calendar days) prior to the scheduled evaluation.  Please note that evaluations must be rescheduled via telephone only, as we are not able to send or receive text messages.


Cancellation Policy:

Please note that your evaluation time is reserved specifically for you.  If you wish to cancel your evaluation, you will be issued a refund of your evaluation deposit as long as the evaluation is cancelled at least one week (seven calendar days) prior to the evaluation. If you wish to reschedule your evaluation (e.g., if a scheduling conflict arises), you may do so without charge as long as you notify our office at least one week (seven calendar days) prior to the scheduled evaluation.  Evaluations cancelled within one week (seven business days) of the appointment time will not include a refund of the evaluation deposit.  Please note that evaluations must be cancelled via telephone only, as we are not able to send or receive text messages.


No-Show Policy:

Please note that your evaluation time is reserved specifically for you.  If you no-show to the evaluation, you will not be refunded the evaluation deposit.  If you wish to reschedule a missed evaluation, full payment for the missed appointment will be required before a new appointment may be scheduled.  Exceptions for emergencies may of course be made and may be done so at the discretion of our office.
