What should I expect on the day of my appointment?
- Your appointment will include the following:
- Time spent gathering information about one’s concerns, background, and history (approximately 30 to 45 minutes)
- Interactive, one-on-one testing with Dr. Sutton (typically ranging from three to six hours, depending on the patient’s age, reason for evaluation, level of functioning, etc.)
- Lunch, snack, and restroom breaks as needed
- Time spent reviewing results and discussing recommendations (approximately 30 to 45 minutes)
- The finalized report will then be sent to you upon its completion (typically within 7 to 10 business days).
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
- Please bring the following items to your evaluation:
- Current medication list
- Your preferred method of payment (cash, check, or credit card)
- Reading glasses (if you wear them)
- Hearing aids (if you wear them)
- Any relevant medical records (including copies of previous evaluations)
- Water/coffee/etc.
- Snacks
How do I schedule an appointment with Dr. Sutton?
- You may schedule an appointment with Dr. Sutton by either calling the practice at 910-803-1434 or by submitting your information on the Contact Us page.
I have a conflict with my schedule. Am I able to reschedule my evaluation?
- Please note that your evaluation time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to reschedule your evaluation (e.g., if a scheduling conflict arises), you may do so without charge as long as you notify our office at least one week (seven calendar days) prior to the scheduled evaluation. Please note that evaluations must be rescheduled via telephone only (910-803-1434), as we are not able to send or receive text messages.
I no longer need an evaluation. Am I able to cancel my evaluation?
- Please note that your evaluation time is reserved specifically for you. If you wish to cancel your evaluation, you will be issued a refund of your evaluation deposit as long as the evaluation is cancelled at least one week (seven calendar days) prior to the evaluation. If you wish to reschedule your evaluation (e.g., if a scheduling conflict arises), you may do so without charge as long as you notify our office at least one week (seven calendar days) prior to the scheduled evaluation. Evaluations cancelled within one week (seven business days) of the appointment time will not include a refund of the evaluation deposit. Please note that evaluations must be cancelled via telephone only (910-803-1434), as we are not able to send or receive text messages.
What happens if I accidentally miss my evaluation?
- Please note that your evaluation time is reserved specifically for you. If you no-show to the evaluation, you will not be refunded the evaluation deposit. If you wish to reschedule a missed evaluation, full payment for the missed appointment will be required before a new appointment may be scheduled. Exceptions for emergencies may of course be made and may be done so at the discretion of our office.
