ADHD/ADD Evaluations

Evaluations for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD; previously known as attention deficit disorder, or ADD) are conducted with individuals who are experiencing significant attentional difficulties, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity.  Other concerns sometimes include behavioral difficulties (e.g., impulsive behavior, oppositional behavior, etc.).  Such difficulties may be negatively impacting areas of the patient’s life, including (but not limited to) school, home life, and functioning in the work and/or academic setting.

A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation in such cases will help to determine:

  • Whether any significant attentional and/or behavioral impairments are present

  • How severe any such attentional and/or behavioral difficulties may be

  • What may be causing any such attentional and/or behavioral difficulties

  • What interventions may be implemented to aid with any such attentional and/or behavioral difficulties
