Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Evaluations

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) may occur at any stage of life and may result from motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, falls, etc.  Depending on the location and severity of the injury, neurocognitive deficits may range from minimal to severe.  Such impairments may negatively impact functioning at home, in one’s relationships with others, at school, and/or at work.  Evaluations following TBIs can help to determine the nature and severity of any deficits and how treatment plans may be adjusted to help best match one’s pattern of strengths and weaknesses.

A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation in such cases will help to determine:

  • Whether any deficits are present

  • The severity of any such deficits

  • The pattern of strengths and weaknesses which may be present

  • How to best adjust treatment plans and implement interventions and accommodations to maximize one’s strengths and manage one’s weaknesses
