Evaluations for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD; previously known as attention deficit disorder, or ADD) are conducted with individuals who are experiencing significant attentional difficulties, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity.  Such difficulties may be negatively impacting areas of the patient’s life, including (but not limited to) school, home life, and functioning in the work and/or academic setting.

A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation in such cases will help to determine:

  • Whether any significant attentional and/or behavioral impairments are present

  • How severe any such attentional and/or behavioral difficulties may be

  • What may be causing any such attentional and/or behavioral difficulties

  • What interventions may be implemented in order to aid with any such attentional and/or behavioral difficulties
